Australia has long been famous for its pearls, with Broome on the north-west coast still the centre of the country's south sea pearl industry. This Great Southern Land release celebrates that heritage with an iridescent mother of pearl insert in the shape of the Australian continent.
The insert is encircled by marine creatures found in Australian waters, including a great white shark, sea turtle, seahorse, blue-ringed octopus, starfish and stingray, along with The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, weight, purity and 2021 year-date. The obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.
Housed in a classic display case with clear lid, packaged in the illustrated shipper with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Sold out at the mint.
