The 2024 release in The Perth Mint's Great Southern Land series features an Australia-shaped insert of green chrysoprase. Coloured by nickel and sometimes called 'Australian jade', the stone reflects the lush habitat of Australia's rainforests.
The insert is surrounded by rainforest fauna and flora including a flying fox, possum, tree snake, kingfisher, crocodile, butterfly, tree frog, cassowary and orb-weaving spider. The reverse also carries the special 'P125' mintmark marking The Perth Mint's 125th anniversary, plus the coin's weight, purity and year-date. The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of H.M. King Charles III.
Housed in a classic display case with clear lid, packaged in the illustrated shipper with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Please note the colour of the chrysoprase insert varies from coin to coin.
